1 Corinthians 6: 12-20

A soul-tie is a deep emotional, spiritual and sometimes physical bond formed between two people.

  • There are relationships you walk away physically but not emotionally.
  • When God designed the covenant of marriage, it was for the purpose of connecting two separate people to become one.
  • The city of Corinth was [at the time of the lette] living in sin (sexual immorality).
  • You are allowed to do anything but not everything is good for you.
  • When your soul is tied to something, you become a slave to it and can no longer do as you like.
  • Do not allow what you are doing to take control over you and enslave you.
  • All things are lawful but do not be mastered by anything.
  • There are certain things you are not supposed to do or eat as they might lead you to losing God’s glory.
  • God has given you free will.
  • God has brought you out of sin so why are you going back? Allow yourself to die and be made anew.
  • Let the soul rule over the flesh and not the flesh to rule the soul. Let your body be the temple of God.
  • Take note that whatever you do [as Christ lives in you], you do it with Him.
  • Because of our love of sin we like to be saved partially, not fully.
  • Be aware that your actions gives Satan a reason to accuse you before God.
  • Allow God to remove your filthy garments, to take away your iniquity and clothe you in princely garmets.
  • 75% of power comes from holiness, so live a holy life.
  • Paul says that we must flee sexual immorality as it is a sin against the body.
  • Let yourself be under the managent of God.
  • Sometimes bondage feels like love but it produces torment. How to break soul ties
  1. Through repentance
  • Salvation is a once off thing but repentance is a process.
  • Repentance is not only leaving sin but also keeping your focus on God.
  1. Remove access
  • Close all entry points that leads you to sin e.g. if it is your friends, block and delete not just block and then unlock them later.
  1. Replace the attachment
  • Intimacy with God must replace the gap left after leaving sin.
  • The time you used to spend on sin, replace it with prayer, meditation and Godly activities.
  • Don’t leave the space unfilled as that will leave you vulnerable.
  1. Restore your identity
  • You are a child of God.
  • You were bought with a price [the Blood of Christ].
  • You are a redeemed property. Closing Remarks
  • You will never break the soul tie by will power but by surrendering yourself to Christ.
  • The strongest tie you need is being connected to God and being one with Him.
  • Soul ties are either a blessing through God’s covenant or a curse when you are in covenant with other things. Declarations:

In the name of Jesus,
I belong to you,
Tonight, I break any ungodly ties,
I renounce every emotional bondage,
I renew my covenant with You [God],
I am under your management,
I will not be ruled by things that are not from You [God]
